We have a number of vacancies both on the Theme Park, in the Office and on the Retail Village. Please read carefully through the full list of vacancies and list which you are interested in on the application form. We will not consider applications that do not complete the choice section of the application form.

CURRENT VACANCIES - THEME PARK

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

TEAM LEADER AND SUPERVISORS
Ideally aged over 21, so you can train and operate the full complement of rides you will assist the Department Manager in the smooth running of the department. Duties will include supervising staff, dealing with customer queries and complaints, staff training, staff discipline and paperwork. The role involves walking round the Park throughout the day, in all weathers, and you will be expected to be able to operate rides if required. Own transport and supervisory experience an advantage.

Ride Staff
Operating or assisting on one of our many family and children’s rides on the Park, you will work either as part of a small team or as an individual ride operator. You will enjoy meeting people and working outdoors in all weathers and understand the importance of following strict procedures

FIRST AIDER
Required to work only when the Park is open you will provide First Aid treatment and advise to both staff and customers. You will ensure relevant paperwork is completed and monitor stock levels of supplies in the First Aid room. You should have had hands on experience of delivering First Aid, a current FAAW or equivalent certificate. A CRB check will be carried out on the successful candidates.

Hygiene Staff
Main duties will include cleaning, emptying bins, litter picking and small maintenance jobs. Own transport is preferred as this position has an 8.00 start and also some driving duties will be required. The position will involve lifting and walking long distances.

REVENUE DEPARTMENT

CATERING TEAM LEADER

This role will involve assisting the Catering Manager with the smooth operation of the catering department. Daily tasks will involve organising staff, dealing with queries and complaints from customers, using initiative and reacting to situations there and then, training staff, stock take, cash handling, paperwork and staff discipline. The Park covers a large area and team leaders are expected to walk round site for the majority of the day. Own transport and a knowledge of catering and catering equipment an advantage.

CATERING SUPERVISORS/CANTEEN SUPERVISOR
You will be in charge of a given unit within the Catering Department and be responsible for the smooth and profitable running of the unit. Supervisors on the Park will have to allocated their staff to the duties required, ensure the unit is fully stock, that cash handling procedures are being carried out and that the unit runs smoothly. The canteen supervisor may have an additional member of staff on a busy day but may also be working alone. The canteen is used by all staff on the site and staff have a limited lunch break so the unit needs to run quickly and efficiently, and always be fully stocked. Own transport and previous catering experience an advantage

Catering Staff
Whether in our large fast food restaurants or smaller snack outlets you will be serving food, keeping your unit clean and offering excellent customer service. Minimal food preparation is required.

Retail Staff
To work in the gift shops and photo points around the site you will serve customers, stock take, ensure your outlet is fully stocked and also clean. Please note this is a small department, which usually gets massively oversubscribed so priority will be given to those with previous retail experience and those who are available throughout the season. Please ensure you nominate a second choice.

Games Assistant
Working on the various Games stalls around the Park you will be outgoing and confident, encouraging customers to have a go. Shrinking violets need not apply.

Stores Assistant
Taking deliveries, delivering stock to units and stock taking form a large part of the Stores duties. Ideally you will have a full driving licence and own transport as you will be required to start around 8.30. Please be aware this role will involve lots of lifting.

Rates of pay for Theme Park Staff
16-17 year old    4.18
18-20 year old    5.15
21 + 6.18
Minimum age required is 16.

Transport is available when the Park is open from the following locations, Northallerton, Richmond, Catterick, Thirsk, Bedale & Ripon, and a small daily charge is payable.

Seasonal staff must to be available for work for a minimum of 50 days during the season.

CURRENT VACANCIES – RETAIL VILLAGE – OPEN DAILY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

SEASONAL RETAIL ASSISTANTS/SEASONAL WEEKEND STAFF

Must be customer focused, flexible and some retail experience is preferred. A passion for Retail is essential. Own transport will be required. Main Duties will involve merchandising and stock control, customer service and general housekeeping. Some permanent positions may be available at the end of the summer.

Seasonal Granary Assistants
Working in the Granary Restaurant and Coffee Shop you will be flexible, able to work under pressure and on your own initiative you will ideally have catering experience and have excellent customer service skills. Main duties will be serving customers, clearing tables, general housekeeping and some minimal food preparation.

VACANCIES - OFFICE

Customer Service Assistant
This position is available from mid March – mid November and is 5 days over 7, approx 40 hours per week, main duties will be answering phones, taking bookings, preparing tickets, and dealing with customer queries. Weekend working essential.

Customer Service Officer x 2
2 positions available from 24th March to 11th November. Responsibilities to include running the busy visitor services desk, coordinating the main park radio, dealing with face-to-face customer enquiries, handling feedback forms & issuing disabled access wristbands. Hours will be flexible depending on theme park opening hours – 3 or 4 days per week during school holiday periods and 1 or 2 days per week during off-peak periods. Weekend working essential.

Cash Office Assistant
You will be counting the takings from the Park and the Village and completing the relevant paperwork involved. The hours will relate to Park opening and will vary, some days you will finish earlier than others. You will require your own transport and ideally will have some experience of cash handling.

If successful at interview you will be required to attend an Assessment Day prior to being offered a contract, the dates for these are Ride staff 3rd March, Catering Staff 4th March, Retail/Games 10th March. Other dates will be added but will be after Easter.
